Movie Quote Triva

For some reason this just sounded fun to me. See how many you can correctly answer from some of my favorite movie quotes. Most of these are not too obscure to prevent this from being a boring exercise. Out to the side I have put a "difficulty rating" as to how tough I think the quote is. 1 is easy, 5 is most difficult

1. "My name is Hendry William French"
"That's a good name too." (3)

2. "Read the T.V. Guide, you don't need a T.V." (2)

3. "We all have our own El Guapo to deal with. In our case, he's a big ugly guy who wants to kill us." (1)

4. "You go, we go." (2)

5. "You're only saying never cause no one ever has." (1)

6. "When there is no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth." (3)

7. "Touch me again and I'll kill ya." (3)

8. "I grew up. Why don't you?" (4)

9. "I want to see more of you around the lab"
"Fine, I'll gain weight." (3)

10. "Who loves you and who do you love?" (4)

In addition to the ones already given (all of which I knew), I believe we are looking at:

4. Backdraft.
5. I believe this line is actually, "Your only saying that cause no one ever has." The Princess Bride.
6. I actually don't know.
7. The Last Boy Scout.
8. No Clue.
10. This is my greatest answer if this is right. I had no guess for for forever, and then I realized it sounds like a TV signoff, then I thought game show? It has been a while, but is this what Richard Dawson says in The Running Man? I'm going to look it up in my Stephen King collection as soon as I post this.

By the way Barry, if you read this, I'm a little disappointed in your puny single answer!

Rex,

All of your answers are correct. I will admit I am impressed by The Running Man, I find myself saying that line all the time. It is actually used twice in the film, once when Dawson actually says it during the live taping, and then once again in a super eerie moment when Richards and Laughlin are in the corridor about to get attacked by Buzzsaw, they replay some of the clips already used in the movie. Great editing.

So, that leaves #6 and #8. Number 6 someone should get, number 8 might be near impossible.

Ok, that only leaves #8. Here is a small hint. The line is delivered with attitude while standing toe to toe with someone else.

JB "RUBBERBAND MAN" BAKER.

I swear dude, you never cease to amaze me with your 80's action movie quote knowledge.

You are correct, Carl Weathers delivers that line to highly ticked off Arnold Schwarzenegger in the middle of the film "Predator" after destroying a village. Impressive.

June 04, 2007 3:58 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't remember that line from Predator.

June 04, 2007 4:32 PM

I was actually thinking #8 might be from "Hook", from Robin Williams to Dustin Hoffman. I was ready to do a happy dance, till I read it was from Predator. Ah well.

Rex, I've only actually seen 5 of the 10 movies, and none of them in their entirety since I first saw them in general release or early on video or cable. So I didn't recall the quotes. But Beast, do it again, maybe I'll do better!
